Built between 1905 and 1906, The gatehouse was designed in the same spirit—and by the same hand—as the château’s outbuildings. It shares their architectural signature and was originally conceived as workers’ housing.
The gatehouse’s bow window, resembling a lighthouse lookout, offers a view of both entrances to the estate. Its recent renovation brought modern comforts while preserving its unique character—such as its striking chimney made of brick and volcanic stone, its historic materials, and its unusual geometry.
The kitchen (inspired by the château’s original kitchen) and the bathroom were added during the restoration, as they did not exist in the original structure.

The Bedroom
Located upstairs, the bedroom opens to the mountains via a small sheltered, south-facing balcony.
It retains its original brick fireplace, terracotta tile hearth, and period parquet flooring.
The room is furnished with a comfortable double bed (160 × 200 cm), two nightstands, blackout curtains, an armchair, a luggage bench, a wardrobe, and a linen armoire.
Bed linen, duvets, and pillows are all included and certified Oeko-Tex*.®.
Your bed will be made upon arrival.
The Living Room
A comfortable lounge and dining area arranged around a monumental fireplace, restored according to the original layout and now equipped with a wood-burning stove.
The floor features original encaustic cement tiles.

The Bathroom
Directly accessible from the bedroom, the bathroom features a spacious shower and carefully chosen materials:

The Kitchen
For your comfort, a fully equipped kitchen has been installed in the gatehouse’s former lookout.
Its design—inspired by the château’s modernist kitchen (circa 1904)—features raw beech wood, patinated zinc, brick, and basalt, and offers a semi-panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.
