Special Conditions for Cottages

Security Deposit

For cottage bookings, a security deposit is required before the keys are handed over, under the conditions indicated in Article III (payment methods).

Note: If the security deposit is paid upon arrival, only payments by credit card (VISA or MASTERCARD) or cash are accepted.

If the security deposit is paid by credit card, it will not be immediately debited; only a guarantee will be taken from your bank; the card will only be charged at the end of your stay if part or all of the deposit needs to be used.

The return of your security deposit (or the release of the card guarantee) will take place on the day of your departure, after the inventory check, provided that the accommodation is returned in perfect condition, without any damage, and with a complete inventory.

Check-in and Check-out Inventory

The day of your arrival, after payment of your security deposit and any remaining balance for your stay, a joint inventory of your accommodation will be carried out when the keys are handed over.

A joint inventory will also be carried out upon your departure when the keys are returned.

If the check-out inventory cannot be carried out jointly (e.g., if the guest leaves outside the agreed times), only the inventory carried out by the owner will be valid. The owner may use any available means of proof (bailiff’s report, photographs, etc.) if the accommodation is not returned in perfect condition. If the accommodation is returned in perfect condition, the security deposit will be refunded within 10 days.

Hygiene and Safety

Château de la Cheyrelle is a listed historic monument located in the mid-mountains (altitude 1,100 m). It offers its guests and visitors an authentic and preserved setting but requires some basic precautions.

Accident Prevention

Stairs, thresholds, sloping floors, black ice, and snow pose risks, particularly for those with balance or mobility issues, especially in winter. We do our best to welcome you under the best conditions, but it is important that our guests are aware and remain vigilant.

Fire Prevention

Due to the heritage value of the buildings and the fragility of the decor, the interior of all buildings is entirely non-smoking. Lighting candles, incense, or making fires in fireplaces not equipped with a wood stove is prohibited.

Wild Animals

The chateau park is regularly visited by many wild animals that contribute to its charm: deer, roe deer, hares, foxes, birds of prey, squirrels, etc. Most are not dangerous, but their tranquility should be respected, and caution should be exercised. Observing them is fascinating, and encounters are always moving.

Spring Water

The chateau has been supplied by its own mountain spring since the late 19th century. Bottled water is also available for purchase on-site.

Room Hygiene

Meals and picnics are prohibited inside the rooms and lounges.

Video Surveillance

To ensure the preservation of the premises, visitors are informed that the site is under video surveillance in accordance with the provisions of the Internal Security Code (Articles L.223-1 to L.223-9, L.251-1 to L.255-1, L.613-13, R.223-1, R.223-2, and R.251-1 to R.254-2), as well as the French Data Protection Act No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, and the European Regulation 2016/679, Chapter III, Section 2.

Images are kept for a maximum of 7 days and may be viewed in the event of an incident by authorized personnel and law enforcement. You may exercise your right to access images concerning you by contacting the person in charge of the video surveillance system, Mr. Mazars (+33 4 15 58 00 34). You may also file a complaint with the CNIL at cnil.fr/plaintes or report any anomalies to the Departmental Prefect or the Departmental Video Surveillance Commission.
