The Serpentine Room

Open views over the valley and the village of Dienne

Located on the château’s mountain-level floor, the Serpentine Room and its adjoining tower bathroom offer direct access to the living room. Overlooking the terrace, it features sweeping views over the Santoire valley and the village of Dienne.

A refined interior with shimmering tones

The harmony of wood, textiles, and brass

The Serpentine Room takes its name from a mineral whose colours — vegetal greens and golden hues — inspired the room’s palette. It’s also a nod to Loïe Fuller’s famous serpentine dance, a flowing, nature-inspired movement dear to the Art Nouveau aesthetic.
The walls combine antique oak panelling with finely woven, shimmering wallpaper. The effect is elegantly echoed in the warm glow of the bespoke brass door handles.

Timeless elegance in custom-made furniture

Signed pieces and a characterful bathroom

The oak bed, crafted in 1902, features sleek, forward-thinking geometric lines and includes remarkably practical integrated bedside tables. A matching oak fireplace with trumeau mirror, a wardrobe, and chairs designed by Serrurier-Bovy complete the ensemble.

The bathroom, directly accessible from the bedroom, is located in the rounded north tower. Decorated with Venetian glass mosaics matching the room’s colours and oak woodwork, it offers a soft, enveloping atmosphere. A spacious walk-in shower and an organically shaped vanity add a touch of surprise and character.
